Welcome to Coatimundi!

Happy May, Cavaliers!

As we move into the “final stretch” of the 2022-2023 school year, I have included a few tips to keep your child focused, attentive, and on track academically as this school year winds down. Please continue to encourage your child to continue to complete all their assignments and do their best!

.

*Stick to routine as much as possible:

Regular routines, including healthy snacks, helps to reinforce that although things may be a little bit more relaxed at school during this time, teacher and parent expectations for behavior are still the same.

*Take it outside: Try moving classwork outside whenever possible. Try activities such as drawing the math equations in chalk on the driveway , act out a history lesson, or curl up on the front or back patio and read aloud. Fresh air and the opportunity to be outside helps to make tackling any remaining school work a bit easier.

*Acknowledge Progress: Encourage your child to reflect on his /her school year and think about what they have learned, what was challenging, how they dealt with it, and what they are proud of.

*Stay Active: Children are recommended to get at least 60 minutes of active play each day . Hiking trails , family evening or morning walks , bike rides and exploring the outdoors are just a few great ways to stay active and get out of the house.

In closing, I would like to personally thank YOU for the continuous support throughout this school year . I am proud and honored to be your principal.

It's ALWAYS a GREAT day to be a CAVALIER!!!!

With kind regards,
